Finished Trunk
The Speaker Works Buick Grand National had a trunk that when covered up, was
about as stealth as could be. The trunk was finished in gray carpet, and
there was no indication that it held one of the most extensive stereo systems
in existence. This picture shows the trunk in all its glory.

Trunk, Passenger Side
The passenger side of the trunk. Notice the spare tire is covered in matching
carpet. Also, you can see that behind the spare tire, the trunk angles inward
along the passenger side wall. This panel covers the fuse block and second
battery in the car.

Battery and Fuse Block
Removing the cover and the spare tire shows the battery and fuse block for
the system. The batter is in a custom fabricated battery holder, while the
fuse block was also fabricated by hand for the system. Each fuse is labeled
with the equipment it protects.

Battery Holder
This picture shows the custom fabricated battery rack in the car.
The battery rack was made specifically for this application, and shows
the level of detail employed in integrating the system throughout the car.
This picture also shows the custom fabricated spare tire holder in front
of the battery rack.

EQ and Crossover Rack
The EQs and Crossover used in the Grand National were modified studio pieces.
These rack mount pieces needed a custom rack made for them if they were going
into the car. This is a picture of that rack.

EQ and Crossover Rack (Picture 2)
The EQs and Crossover used in the Grand National were modified studio pieces.
These rack mount pieces needed a custom rack made for them if they were going
into the car. This is another picture of that rack, showing the detail work
in it. You can see that the wires are all loomed, and that there are no
visible seams in the rack.

Completed Amplifier Rack
A total of five amplifiers powered the six speakers in the system. Four of
the amplifiers were located on the floor, while one was on the rear wall
of the trunk. This picture shows the four amplifiers on the floor and part
of the fifth amplifier (far right).
